Greetings,
Hopefully you are interested in garden ponds because this website is all about ponds and the secrets of how to make them work without being a rocket scientist. All you need to make use of this site is a sense of humor, and an open mind.
When I set out to build ponds for a living, I had a hard time finding any guidelines that didn't quickly degenerate into unintelligible gobblety-gook. So I promise to explain what I learned, in my years at the knee of Mother Nature, in a way you will immediately understand and enjoy.
No theory, no technical stuff - I won't go there. I am the first to admit that I don't always understand why some things work and others don't. Mother Nature spent millions of years figuring out ponds, who are we to understand it in our limited time. Just do what works and don't analyze it to death!
I enjoyed giving hundreds of seminars to pond enthusiasts and newcomers both. It gave me a real perspective on the questions you may have and helped me to turn my experience with ponds, waterfalls, aquatic plants, and fish into lessons that will serve you well. Ponds should be fun - I have tried to keep my articles focused and lighthearted.
I also offer an inexpensive how-to workbook titled The Perfect Pond for those of you that want to get off on the right webbed foot.
If you follow my advice, you will have a pond that looks better, and is easier to maintain, than any pond built or maintained by those constantly fiddling with chemicals, filters, fountains, and other man made contrivances. When you are finished with information on this website, I am confident that you will have a new outlook on ponds.
So let's have some fun. Enjoy a laugh or two, and above all - keep an open mind. And please, never let any of my comments offend you in any way.
